Relay For Life - I'm participating!!

Post Number 66

Hey - tis the time of year to don the jogging threads, slap on sunscreen and grab a baton - yes, it's Relay For Life - Launceston 19-20 March 2005 held by the Cancer Council Tasmania.

Me and Moosels will be running/jogging/walking/crawling (and if I'm lucky, piggy back ride!) for four hours - 1 hour then 3 consecutive hours on Saturday evening.

My employer and fellow co workers (and our family members/partner) will be doing the 24hour relay. We are collecting donations before the event and hope to have a good amount done. I am donating $15 myself and support would be appreciated.

Please stop by the The Cancer Council Tasmania website to find out ways you can help contribute to a worthy cause.

I figure donating is a good way of helping if you're unable to get involved or got some spare change. Obviously I was unable to do much for the Tsunami Appeal - but I did spare the time to go and donate to one of the many charities.

Organisations in Australia such as Red Cross, Oxfam World Vision and many others have appeals running for national and international causes. You can volunteer, give blood, raise awareness - it's not all about money. I don't mean to say they are the right causes for everyone - but take some time out to visit one of these sites to check out a way you can give a helping hand. It's not just global, sometimes you can help in your own backyard, and sometimes in the neighbourhood of Our World.

Don't forget to hold onto those pesky receipts come tax time! I think if your donation is over $2 it becomes tax deductible.

Boys who like girls who like boys

Post number 64

Yes, posties almost grandma age. I wonder if it gets to post number 100 if I'll get a letter from the head of blogginess-state.....

Ahh the karma of 2004 has breached the "New Year" with stunning flying colours.

As som of my friends have noticed, I only have one working arm. Laugh as they do whilst I tell them I "fell off my feet at work onto my elbow" they also give me some pity, and two working hands to open jars.

Please note this is a one hand typing post so be impressed by my skillz.

And also I am strategically avoiding the keys upon which my nose has dripped snot on...... Just kidding. But yes, my nose is dripping....... I have the fun "It's the end of summer, fuckers" head cold. Darn immune system.

Hmmm current status- still in relationship with boyf, still living in a common suburb of Little Lonnie, still working full time.
Current status of fun - film society with boyf, mittens, hanging with friends, moofies, chocolate and other foods with saturated fat content over 4grams, Jpop music like there is no tomorrow.
Current staus of un-current thing (ie. wanna doo) - ballroom dancing, animation, chik rock band with the Tonestar as lead and Bron doing bass things, travelling interstate, getting a passport.

My most anticipated acquisition of 2005 - Jpop cd's on order - I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait for it to arrive.
My most anticipated event of 2005 - World Love & Peace
My most anticipated date of 2005 - my burthday, so I can be a quarter of a century ^_^ yay me!
